Brahms was awarded an honorary doctorate for his musical accomplishments. He wrote the Academic Festival Overture in thanksgiving. The overture includes variations on German songs popular on the college campuses of his day. His overture, an excerpt of which is included here, is written for us in academia. It could serve as an excellent exit theme for our next graduation ceremony, turning up the volume to impress the families of the graduates. Check out the very "graduation-esque" theme included.
